Oskaloosa, July 24. — (Special) — Scattered along the Rock Island railroad tracks for nearly 500 feet, the head, arms, legs and pieces of the trunk of the body of John T. Jones, better known as John Jenkins Jones of Beacon, with scarcely a thread of clothing left on them, were picked up shortly after 1 o’clock this morning

Over Twenty Children Badly Injured by Runaway Team

Milwaukee, Wis., April 29 — Over twenty school children were knocked down and injured by a runaway team on Mitchell street yesterday.

The children were all pupils of St. Anthony’s Catholic parochial school at the corner of Fourth avenue and Mitchell street. They had just come out of school and were on their way home. The team, which was owned by William Schattschneider,

George Smith, a Rancher, Meets Tragic Death This Morning

He Had Come to Spend the Holidays With His Brother’s Family

George Smith, a brother of Fred Smith of East Berkeley, was struck by the Berkeley local at the E street station this morning. He died in the patrol wagon on the way to the morgue shortly afterward.

Smith had been employed on the ranch of H. J. Pereau, a conductor on the Berkeley local. The Pereau ranch is at Vacaville, California, and Smith had the management of it. He was returning to Berkeley to spend the holidays, having
