COOKE COUNTY.
GAINESVILLE, TEX., Oct. 4. -- Stolen September 20, five mares, all branded E on left thigh. One black mare about 15 hands high, about 7 years old, with blaze face, with a little white on two or three feet, branded E on left thigh and diamond-cross-diamond on left shoulder. Two sorrel mares, both blaze face and look very much alike, about 7 or 8 years old, both branded E on left thigh and one of them is branded J U, with bar above, on left shoulder; they are about 14 hands high. One bay blaze-face filly, 3 years old, flax mane and tail, about 15 hands high, branded E on left thigh. I will pay $50 reward for recovery of this property and $50 for conviction of the thieves. GOLIAD, TEX., Oct. 5. -- For Peter Garcia Guella in any jail in Texas. Of the following description: About 30 years old, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, weight 125 or 130 pounds, inclined to be rawboned; has mustache and goatee and long, sharp nose; has a knife scar just above the waistband of pants in front; has a large Mexican hat, torn in four places on top and sewed up; wears about No. 7 new, high-heel boots, branded "Our Banner;" has a pair of old ducking saddlebags. His father and mother live in Matamoros. He has worked in Laredo and drove a water cart in Brownsville a few years. He is wanted for the murder of Marcia Lianes on the night of October 4. I hold warrant. Twenty-five dollars' reward. A. R. Alleo, sheriff.
